Spring Markets Bloom

"When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore'", are familiar lyrics to every New Orleanian. The month of March embraces festivals and feasts honoring the patron saints of every ethnic group. So on March 11th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the Harrison Avenue Marketplace celebrates Spring renewal Italian style with the folk favorites of Bobby Lonero and the New Orleans Express; along with festival foods, ambitious arts, creative crafts, and superior services for our Lakeview Community.

While many of our popular vendors are retuning, there are dozens of new ones from all over the metro area. Chef Michael Uddo from Mike's American Grill will join newcomers Bravo Italian Kitchen and Plantation Kettle Corn. The Italian theme is emphasized with pizza and muffalettas from Sally's Country Gourmet, Drago's charbroiled oysters, and Flavor King gelato. Cook wares are offered by Caire Hotel and Restaurant Supply, Tupperware, and cookbooks by Ralph's on the Park.

Arts and crafts are expanded with hand-crafted jewelry from AsiaNola, Bethany, Jamiestank, and TSB with paintings and prints from Linda Rosamano. New clothing selections are available from Lauren Thomas and Uh-Oh Mama. There's even comfortable sandals offered from Feelgoodz. Home décor is highlighted through Sass-E and Celeste Schexnaydre with vintage post cards from Ephermera. And there's attention to children through offerings from Pickleberry, Bob and Bits, and Amy Drouet Photography.

Our Kids' Corner sponsored by Lakeview Christian Center has expanded with the addition of Sojourn Baptist. And health screenings are available through Crescent City Physicians.
