6:45 am Harrison Family Home – Libation by Nigerian Elder Phanuel Egejuru

7:00 am Perkins Family Home – Tribute to community elder.

7:15 am Home of Peter “Chuck” Badie – Tribute to Mr. Badie and his long distinguished career as a bassist and AFO recording artist. Mr. Badie and the late Big Chief Donald Harrison, Sr. were friends.

7:30 am Home of Bob French – Mr. French will accompany the children on his drums on a traditional Mardi Gras Indian chant. Mr. French is a member of the musically talented French Family and a DJ on WWOZ.

7:45 am Home of Joseph “Smokey” Johnson – Mr. Johnson, who received his

nickname for smoking his drums will lead the children in a rendition of his famous, “Oh, It Ain’t My Fault.”

8:00 am Home of David Lee Fountain – Tribute to community artist and elder.

8:30 am Livers Family Home – Tribute and recognition of the importance of the Tremè area in the maintenance of indigenous cultural traditions.

9:00 am Congo Square – Tribute to African Ancestors and those who maintained African traditions at Congo Square.
