Guests are encouraged to act environmentally by reducing linen and towel changes, the result of which is a 25% decrease of water usage and laundry detergent
Shampoo/soap amenities in guest rooms are now environmentally friendly and are packaged in recycled pleated oyster paper
Paints and solvents are eco-friendly alternatives and are low in volatile organic compounds (VOC)
High-efficiency air filters have been installed in all guest rooms
Go-Green cleaning products are all-natural, non-toxic and free of ammonia and bleach
95% of hotel lighting is 9-watt high-efficiency florescent lighting, consistent with the Pyramid Hotel Group best practices policy
Staff and guests are encouraged to utilize public mass transportation
We are moving towards the use of recycled paper for hotel collateral. The paper provided in guest rooms is being transitioned to 100% recycled
Energy-Star certified equipment is operated in our commercial laundry facility
Where possible, we source food from local suppliers and avoid purchasing products with unnecessary packaging
Appropriate hotel inventory is donated to local non-profit organizations to benefit our community and reduce landfill waste
Discounted parking rate is offered to owners of hybrid-certified vehicles
Heating and cooling temperatures are lowered and lights are turned off in unoccupied rooms and meeting spaces
All trash bags are made with 75% recycled plastic.
Whenever possible, cold water will be used in laundry; up to 85% energy used in a washing machine is to heat the water.
