Bayou Boogaloo Brings Boats, Root beer to Big Easy
If you’re looking for festival fun this weekend, you’re in luck. It’s time for the tenth annual Bayou Boogaloo - a free, three-day festival the whole family will enjoy. The festival is held by the Mothership Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging social change by promoting arts, culture, and recreation in the lives of Louisiana residents.
Bayou Boogaloo is held on the bands of Bayou Saint John in Mid City. It’s complete with festival food, live music, and more! You can take part in a 5K or fun run. Feeling brave? Join in the Bicycle Pub Crawl!
There’s a Paddle Battle Boat Race sponsored by Bayou Paddlesports! The races will take place on Bayou Saint John at Lafitte Street on Sunday, May 17 from 8-11am.
If you’re looking for something super unique, stop the intersection of Orleans and Moss to visit their Abita Root Beer Float Float (yes, it's actually a float!) to have a delicious root beer float! You can even dock your boat on the float to hop in line.
If this sounds like something you want to expereince (and trust us, it is!), book a stay with us!
