Jazz Fest: Second Weekend Roundup
Break out the sunglasses: the second weekend of Jazz Fest is going to be bright! With highs in the low 80s, the sun shining, and killer live music; it’ll be one for the books! That’s right, the first weekend was huge, but the second weekend is looking even better.
Beginning Thursday, April 30 the New Orleans Fairgrounds will be flooded with top talent such as Widespread Panic, Alison Krauss & Union Station, No Doubt, Chicago, Anthony Hamilton, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Lenny Kravitz, and Kacy Musgraves.
While top talent draws you in, the local and regional acts keep you jamming from the time the gates open until they shut the place down. Kermit Ruffins, Big Fredia, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Trombone Shorty, and more will showcase just how much homegrown talent the New Orleans music scene produces.
But it wouldn’t be a New Orleans festival without the culture: food and arts will be featured throughout the grounds. Try some alligator pie, crawfish bread, Cajun jambalaya, or a fried shrimp po-boy just to name a few!
The festival will have several highly sought after artists onsite demonstrating their unparalleled talents.
